Sited on River Road between North Avon Rd and Eveleyn Couzins Avenue, this project is a collaboration of Greening the Rubble, Avon-Ōtākaro Network, Working Waters Trust and Richmond Community Gardens.
Riverbend Refuge is designed to demonstrate native riparian planting and the associated benefits for creatures great and small, and to provide innovative public amenity for rest, play and education at the site. The location suggests a contemplative atmosphere with potential to develop as a unique place for people to connect with nature.
